ILLUSTRATED BY DAVID MAYNAR Lluís Domènech i Montaner is one of the greatest Catalan architects. His style belongs with the modernism, but he goes beyond the dictated rules and creates unique buildings around the world. Nowadays, we still admire his works, such as the Palau de la Música Catalana or the Hospital de Sant Pau. Moreover, Domènech i Montaner is also commited to his country. He studies its medieval past, rescues its heritage and defends its rights in the Congrés dels Diputats. He doesn't always gets what he wants, but all this work has its rewards. Thanks to his contributions, Catalonia will no longer be the same.
